Artist Plate Project Returns for Third Edition

Featuring the likes of Alice Neel, Amoako Boafo, Katherine Bernhardt, Virgil Abloh, Philip Guston and more.

The Coalition for the HomelessArtist Plate Project has become a platform for established and emerging creatives to showcase their work, while providing meals for low-income New Yorkers. In conjunction with the upcoming Frieze New York, the 2023 Artist Plate Project will boast a remarkable list of global creatives, including Alice Neel and Amoako Boafo, Hank Willis Thomas and Huma Bhabha to Philip Guston and the late Virgil Abloh, amongst many.

Co-founded and curated by Michelle Hellman, the organization has worked with nearly 100 artists and has raised over $4.5m USD since 2020. Funds from the sale of each plate benefit New York organizations by providing emergency food, clothing, eviction prevention, as well as job training and programs for youth to 3,500 homeless and at-risk men, women and children each day.

Whether an aspiring or established collector, the plates are an excellent way to acquire work from some of the most celebrated artists from the past century and those working today. The first 75 plates of each artist’s edition of 250 will be available at Frieze New York. The remaining edition size will be available on Artware Editions starting on May 22 at 10am ET.

In case you missed it, Hypeart spoke with Joe O’Donnell for the latest Pen & Paper.
