Orient Readies UK Launch With New Flagship Models
Featuring the Diver 1964 2nd Edition, Contemporary Skeleton, Bambino 38mm, and more.
Japanese watchmaker Orient has made its timepieces, as well as its premium line, Orient Star available to the UK market for the first time.
Founded in 1950, the brand is committed to offering high-quality timepieces with timeless designs that are also attainable for the masses. In 1951, the Orient Star line was established as an outlet for the Japanese horologer to explore the more prestigious side of watchmaking. Today, the brand continues to capture the hearts of enthusiasts with both its Orient and Orient Star offerings being widely available in over 40 countries around the world.
Making its British debut with a collection of 46 watches, the lineup is headed by brand new flagship models such as Orient Star’s Diver 1964 2nd Edition, Contemporary Skeleton, and Orient’s Bambino timepiece.
Modeled after one of the watchmaker’s first divers’ watches, the Diver 1964 2nd Edition arrives in a glossy dial and a sleek stainless steel build. Now compliant with the ISO 6425 standard for air diving, the 41mm watch is configured with a highly accurate, in-house F6N47 automatic movement, offering over 50 hours of power reserve and 20 ATM water resistance.
With a design that sits between formal and casual, the Orient Star’s Contemporary Full Skeleton watch is the first timepiece of the Contemporary Collection. Inside the 39mm stainless steel case, the watch utilizes Epson’s proprietary technology to power its skeleton movement, which runs up to 70 hours when fully wound.
As for Orient’s classic Bambino 38mm model, one of the biggest selling points lie in its compact case size and vintage appeal. The new size ensures a comfortable fit for all genders, while its inner runnings are powered by Orient’s reliable, automatic in-house F6724 movement.
This first phase of Orient Watch’s official UK site launch will introduce 46 models from the brand, which includes the aforementioned flagship watches. Later on in the month, the watch brand has confirmed to roll out even more new and exclusive timepieces for its UK audience.
Elsewhere in watches, Swatch and OMEGA tease a new MoonSwatch colorway.
