Take a Look Inside the New Prada Caffè in Harrods
The cafe is officially open.
Prada Caffè is officially open for high-fashion tea, arriving in Harrods today for a limited time only.
Guests are invited to step inside the fashion house’s cafe, featuring an interior that is quintessentially Prada. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, small bites and aperitivo – including everything from sandwiches to buffalo mozzarella, to risotto to seafood dishes with salmon and crab. To shine a light on what guests can expect to eat when they dine at the Prada Caffè, one can find on the burrata with scapece zucchini topped with a mountain of herbs as a part of the lighter Italian mains. Indeed, pasta dishes like spaghetti with datterino tomatoes and stracciatella and basil are offered while desserts like the 72% chocolate cake and vanilla berry fruit tart can finish off the meal.
The entire space takes on a hyper-stylized 1950s soda shop aesthetic, adorned with textured walls and ceilings, velvet-upholstered sofas and armchairs, and of course, the Italian brand’s signature mint-green hue contrasting the black and white tiled floors. The design of the cafe echoes that of a historic Prada boutique store that transports visitors to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. Before walking into the cafe, guests are greeted with a large counter display of pastries and floor-to-ceiling displays of Prada-branded chocolates, candies and other treats. The counter sells pastries for eating-in and takeaway and also appear to take aesthetic notes from Prada’s own Milanese cafe, which was designed by critically-acclaimed filmmaker, Wes Anderson. The cafe truly takes guests on a journey, serving up classic negroni-based aperitifs, as well as cocktails and wines from across Italy.
This is amongst the first of many activations following Prada Group’s reported success in the past year. The Prada Caffè is going to be at Harrods until the end of 2023.
